Sonic Heroes! Released on December 30th 2003 for PS2, Gamecube, & Xbox. (I played the Gamecube version)
So I went into this game knowing it had a bit of a reputation, a lot of people will tell you this is the game where Sonic really started to go downhill, and like, kinda?

Sonic Heroes is a weird one, its a 3D Action-Platformer with 14 levels, 3 bosses, & 2 "kill the waves of enemies" sections. its lacking, whats here is fun!
But its lacking.
unlike in the Sonic Adventure games (the previous 3D Sonic games) Heroes lacks multiple stories & gameplay styles,
in Heroes you control 3 characters at once, a Speed type, Flying type, & Strong type (what actual characters you play as changes based on what difficulty you selected)

And I want to make it clear! the 3 characters at once gameplay works really well!
this is imo the best gameplay style of 3D sonic so far! just, for example, Sonic adventure has
10 levels & 6 boss fights as Sonic,
5 levels & 1 boss as Tails,
5 levels & 2 bosses as Knuckles,
5 levels & 1 boss as E-102 Gamma,
4 levels & 1 boss as Big the Cat,
3 levels & 1 boss as Amy,
and lastly, 1 boss as Super Sonic.
bringing us to a total of 32 levels & 13 bosses, not to forget the whole overworld.
(as a final blow its worth noting sonic heroes also has very little story)

So, enough about what sonic heroes is lacking, what its not lacking is really fucking long levels, in hard/dark mode levels being 15 mins long was just, normal lmao,
honestly I really enjoyed it, I enjoy a game that keeps you on your toes!!! this one did!, however yeah,
dying at the end of a 20 min level and having to restart the whole thing, I can see that pissing people off,
but nah I love that shit lmao.

Alright! I'm out of things to say!! game is,, good! plays better than SA1 & 2, but its really short!!! 6.5/10!

Sike! I have more to say, when playing on the normal/sonic difficulty every single time you fall any sort of height Tails
(sounding like a small child per usual) screams "I'm fallinggggggggggggggg"
it's so fucking dumb, i love it.
